| Our second Learn-To-Row class for 2008 has closed. Demand has been
so great that all positions are filled. In the second half of 2008, we
might be able to make other arrangements. Stay tuned. Click here for the LTR information.

Juniper Rowing Club
Juniper Rowing Club was established in 2002 to allow adult rowing
enthusiasts to participate in rowing. We take our name from the original
name of the canal we row on - Juniper Canal. Our rowers' skills run from
novice to collegiate experience. Our goals are to have fun, to improve
our rowing skills, and to occasionally compete.
When We Row
Details
Our rowing season is between mid-March and mid-November. We row on
public holidays. We row when it's raining. The only thing that keeps us
off the water is lightning. And cold.
The 2008 season has started. We start to walk down on Saturday
mornings at 6:30am, and Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. Be
there 15 minutes early to get assigned to a seat.
Where We Row
- We row on Albemarle & Chesapeake Canal in Great Bridge,
Chesapeake.
- We meet in the parking lot of the Wachovia Bank on Battlefield
Boulevard, the one that's opposite El Toro Loco Mexican Restaurant and
near the Great Bridge Drawbridge.
- We walk from the bank's parking lot down to the dock in the
Atlantic Yacht Basin.
- We row between the Great Bridge Locks and Centerville Waterway
Drawbridge.

- June - Rocketts Landing Sprints, Richmond
- August - Botanical Gardens Sprints (we host)
- October - Head of the James, Richmond
- October - Head of the Lafayette
And whatever other regattas or scrimmages we host or can attend during
