Atlantic Yacht Basin (AYB)
Atlantic Yacht Basin is a private company, on private property. Atlantic
Yacht Basin are very generous in donating us space for our shells, a
boathouse, and a dock. And allowing us access to them. This is not a
permanent arrangement.
If we want to stay on good terms with AYB, then we need to respect their
rules, and not interfere with their business.
- We should all park up at the Wachovia Bank parking lot, then walk
down. It's okay to walk the fire trail.
- It's best to arrive as a group, not as a bunch of stragglers.
- The gate is locked overnight, and if you arrive before it's been
unlocked, there is a buzzer near the gate to use.
- When we arrive, we should always sign in at the Dockmasters
office. If you go in, there will be a clipboard folder on the desk.
Put the name of the person signing in (both first and last name), JRC
for the boat, location is Boathouse or BH, and put the date and
time.
- Be friendly and respectful.
- AYB requests that we limit car traffic. They insist that only one
car per team drive down to the boathouse. Jen reports that if more
than one car goes down, AYB will jump on it.
- When we are doing maintenance and need to drive in a carload of
tools, etc, we should meet in the bank parking lot first and only take
one car in to AYB.
- When we are at the boathouse and on the water, remember that AYB's
customers are in those yachts and launches. If it's early in the
morning, they will probably be sleeping so keep the noise down. In the
evenings, you should also limit the noise.
- When we leave, we should leave as a group. And always sign
out.
