Juniper Rowing Club Learn-To-Row Program

The second Juniper Rowing Club Learn-To-Row session for 2008 is scheduled to begin 31st May. There are three sessions

  • Saturday 31st May
  • Sunday 1st June
  • Monday 2nd June
. If you're interested in rowing, please email us or call Keri at 548-5371.

Requirements

  • You should be aged at least 17
  • You should be in good physical health
  • You should be able to swim

Where

We will meet at Wachovia Bank on Battlefield Boulevard - the bank that's opposite El Toro Loco Mexican Restaurant. We meet, then walk down to the dock in Atlantic Yacht Basin (AYB). AYB is private property, so we can't just walk in singly. We need to walk in as a group and sign in. Don't be late. Be 10 to 15 minutes early if you can.

How Much

Cost of the 3 sessions is $75. Payment will be on the 1st day.

Waiver and Health

Everyone participating in the Learn-To-Row program will need to sign a waiver at the first session. Please read it when you get it, then sign it and make sure we collect it. An understanding of good health is implicit in the waiver.

Details

  • Saturday 31st May, 7:00am - 11:00am: This session will go over boat orientation, learn to move a boat, ERG, row boxes to learn the stroke and get in a boat and attempt to row. For those who want more time in rowboxes after we do row on the water to go over questions, etc., we will do that after being on the water both Sat and Sun.
  • Sunday, 1st June, 7:00am - 8:30am: On the water rowing.
  • Monday, 2nd June, 6:30pm - 8:30pm: On the water rowing.

If you can't attend the first day, please don't sign up for the class. We won't be able to catch you up on all the information if you miss the first day of class.
